On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, the Mažeikiai Mental Health Center opens its doors to the public and invites everyone who wants to learn more about the possibilities of strengthening mental health.
From 9:00 a.m., an OPEN DOOR "MENTAL HEALTH STATION" will be waiting for you.
In different spaces of the center, specialists will invite you not only to listen, but also to try, experience, and discover what can help you better take care of your emotional and physical well-being.
Visitors will be treated to:
psychological well-being stations – about emotions, anxiety, stress and ways to help yourself;
physiotherapy session – movement, breathing and reducing body tension;
occupational therapy station – about the importance of daily activities, routines, and meaningful employment for our well-being;
art therapy session – an opportunity to stop, get to know yourself and express what is sometimes difficult to put into words through creativity;
conversations about mental health and help options – when to seek help, where to find it, and why asking for help is normal;
We will also invite you to familiarize yourself with the center's activities, specialists, and services provided.
11:00 AM – MEETING WITH ADDICTION COUNSELOR MINDAUGS KATKUMS
An open conversation about addictions, their impact on a person's life and mental health, seeking help, the path to recovery, and why sometimes the most important step is to dare to admit that it's too difficult to cope alone.
During the meeting, you will be able to hear practical insights, ask questions of concern, and take a broader look at addiction - not as a human weakness, but as a problem that requires understanding, help, and change.
