Ukrainian Church of St. Anthony of Padua

Churches

In 1776, the landowner Laurynas Pilsudski donated 4 valakus of land to the Ukrinai Church. The Pilsudskis owned the Žemale Manor . It is likely that the founder himself built the first church in Ukrinai, the high altar of which was consecrated, i.e. dedicated to the honor of God, in 1784. The nobles (šlėktos) of the Ukrinai and Bukončiai noble villages built a new church in 1803. It and the bell tower burned down on July 21, 1852. In 1857, the current wooden church was built (it was a branch of the Židikų parish), and in 1913 it was enlarged.
