Built in 1943, it was a branch of Tryškiai. In 1986-1987, the road leading to the church was asphalted.
Locals say that the location of the church was not chosen by chance. The proximity of the river reminds us of the waters of baptism, which wash away worries and renew the soul.
Old people say that the current site of the church was the former Dauginiai cemetery, where plague victims may have been buried in 1709-1711. The decision to build the church in Dauginiai was made because it was difficult for people to reach the churches in Viekšniai, Tryškiai, and Šiaudinė during Lent and Catholic holidays.
