"Kamishibai" - the art of storytelling

The purpose of the service is to develop children's cultural self-awareness, creativity and emotional intelligence using the artistic means of theatre, literature and art. The theatre box "Kamishibai" originated in Japan. Translated from Japanese, it means "paper theatre". The theatre box is wooden, small, placed on a table, at the level of the audience's eyes. Cardboard cards are placed in the box, one side of which has a picture, and the other side contains the text being told, and the tale is followed by pulling out the cards. "Kamishibai" is an excellent tool for teaching children to tell stories, read aloud, draw and create stories. For little ones, this is often their first encounter with theatre, in which they can participate both as spectators and as storytellers or even authors. Creating fairy tales develops imagination, provides entertainment and teaches. In playful, educational and communicative activities, children experience joy, satisfaction, admiration, sadness and other emotions. While following the tale, the educator asks the children questions related to the tale being followed. During the education, children create their own fairy tales, draw on special sheets of paper and, placing them in a box, follow the fairy tales they have invented.
